His dedication was evident as he meticulously reviewed construction blueprints to identify fire and life safety compliance issues, enhancing his skills in ensuring safety at intricate construction sites.

     

    His bravery was further displayed when he assumed a pivotal role as a Safety Professional for General Motors Corporation in Rayong, Thailand. He tirelessly worked to promote safe construction practices. This role was not only a geographical shift but also a significant increase in professional responsibilities, which he adeptly managed.

     

    He then expanded his global experience in the Marshall Islands, working on dual projects under the US Corp of Engineers. His responsibilities included environmental liaison and safety oversight, adhering to EM-385 standards. His commitment to safe and sustainable development was evident throughout this challenging assignment.

     

    Upon returning to the United States, he led safety initiatives in major civil engineering projects. His tenure with Kiewit Construction and Ames Construction utilized his expertise in railroad construction, open pit/tunneling, and mining. His various safety certifications were crucial in providing essential oversight in these significant industries.

     

    Robert Hume's disciplined approach and courage in undertaking large-scale projects are reflected in his responsibility for safety oversight for NavFac & COE projects across several states. His broad experience has been invaluable in conducting safety training classes and promoting safety protocol awareness and discipline.
